Description
Techko's patented "Safe Pool" provides alarm protection to outdoor gates or home doors leading to potentially dangerous pool and spa areas. The Safe Pool features weather resistant construction and mounts directly to either wood or metal doors, windows or gates. When children open the protected door, window or gate by more than 1 each, the unit will sound its built-in 110 dB high output alarm, notifying nearby adults of the attempted entry. The by-pass button allows entry to exit for adults without sounding the alarm, but if the sensors are left open the alarm will sound within 7 seconds. Once the door, window or gate is closed, the unit will reset automatically to resume protection. not practical Jun 09, 2008
By swebby it's a simple design and works well enough to keep kids from going out. But it doesn't have an over ride button for coming back into the house. It you're like us and go in and out to your backyard alot, it's irritating to have the alarm go off whenever you come back IN the house.

Pool Alarm Mar 14, 2009
By T. Connolly I purchased 4 of these devices to pass inspection for my pool. First, this thing works; at 130 db you can't miss it. That said, there are some issues. First you can, as a tall person, disable the alarm when you exit to the pool. The bad part is you cannot disable when you go back inside. The alarm goes off until you hit the bypass button. It's only a second or two, but at 130 db......... The other problems is the adhesives strips supplied with each to install......they do not hold to the unit itself or the sensors. Each day (or night) something would fall, and well, 130db of sound at 3am led to the removal of all the units after the inspection. Sadly I'm still scraping the adhesive strips remaining on the door jambs. If they only stuck that well to the units themselves!!! They do come with screws, but that would have voided my warranty on my double paned hurricane door glass. We have no children, so all the units are in a drawer to be reinstalled in the unlikely event we ever sell our house.

This alarm is EXTREMELY LOUD and uses no battery/electricity when it's not blaring. I've had to replace mine about once every 2 years but It's the Loudest I can find, so this is my third one.

If they had worked like they were supposed to, these would be great. All of our units came and were not working. Some chirp a little others, didn't chirp at all. Its advertised on listing that these can be used indoors, not true. I even have some units outdoors, in direct sunlight still don't work. Make sure you test them out before your 30 day return policy is up, otherwise it will be a VERY costly mistake like we had.

By M. Gibbons I purchased and installed this device on a shed door. It works. Im also happy that the device isnt so sensitve as to be set off by high winds moving door slightly.
