Description

Strathwood's anti-gravity recliner is designed to provide the same weightless, floating sensations NASA astronauts experience in a gravity-free environment. These reclined, "weightless" positions raise legs, thereby reducing pressure on the spine and relieving muscle tension. Due to a unique locking system, the recliner adjusts to offer infinite back and foot positions. Adding comfort to the chair is a removable pillow to serve as a headrest or lumbar support. Best of all, take the chair absolutely anywhere. It folds as compactly as standard lounge chairs.

Bungee cords through metal grommets secure the ultra-durable Textilene seat to its lightweight, powder-coated steel frame and give the chair its renowned suspension seating. Textilene is a polyester yarn with a resin coating, woven into very durable and elastic fabric. The arms are made of a hard plastic for durability. Though the steel seat frame resists rust and corrosion and is powder coated to protect it from weathering, the recliner is not meant to be left outdoors year round in all weather. The recliner is designed to be very easy to set up and take down for storing.

Able to hold up to 250 pounds, the recliner measures 63.8 inches long by 26.8 inches wide by 29.3 inches high when opened and 36 inches long by 26.8 inches wide by 5.7 inches high when closed. It weighs 17.82 pounds and is available in a wide variety of colors for easy accessorizing. Strathwood also offers a variety of anti-gravity and canopy style chairs to accessorize with this one for outdoor enjoyment.

Strathwood furniture has quality, ease of use, and casual elegance at its core. Each piece is rigorously tested for durability, and assembly instructions have been standardized for simplicity from start to finish. Strathwood furniture is sleekly designed, handsomely finished, and built to last. This classic style and reliable craftsmanship will weather ever-changing trends and regular use for years to come.

2It is comfortable enough, but not made for outdoors  Sep 03, 2010
I honestly would give this a 3-4 star rating as a chair and for comfort, except that I would not have bought it for the price I paid for it if I had known how quickly the color fades.

I've only had this chair for a month and a half, I paid over $82 for it, and the color was noticeably lighter after just one day on my covered deck.

I disregarded all the bad reviews that said it was not made for outdoors because it rusts, because I was to have it on my covered porch. But even the material they use for the seat is not weather proof, or even weather resistant. It was noticeably lighter the second day I had it, and now it is probably about 1/3 less colored than it was a MONTH AND A HALF ago. Not okay.

I am afraid to see what the color will be by next summer. There is absolutely NO excuse for it not to be sun and rain proof or at least resistant. It is, afterall, an OUTDOOR CHAIR! It's not as though it can be painted once the color has faded too much.

I am so disappointed. I drooled over this chair for a year, but am unemployed, so I did not buy it. When summer came around, I caved and finally bought it, even though I could not afford it.

It is pretty and comfortable, and I don't want to return it. What I want is for it to be a quality chair, and it just isn't.

I'm not yet sorry I bought it, but I am devastated that it isn't what it claims to be, what it's supposed to be. I sort of feel like it's only made for one season, and for the price I paid, they should just send me a new one every year to compensate for the fact that they don't find it necessary to use quality materials. Knowing what I know now, I would value this chair at around $20 - $30. Unless they start using better quality materials, that is the price they should reduce this chair to.

3Comfy, but pretty scratched up...horrible packaging  Aug 28, 2010
I bought this chair for my pregnant wife to take on our lake vacation as there are no comfortable chairs at the place we stay. It arrived in a box barely larger than the folded chair and there was absolutely no packaging material in the box. The chair tubing was scuffed up and scratched pretty much everywhere, but it was still functional. I'm not convinced that the scratched were even from shipping given the location of some of them, which makes me think the chairs are coming from the manufacturer this way. At any rate, we were leaving in a couple days, so we couldn't return it and really just had to deal with it...like I said, it was still functional. So, we got to the cabin and set the chair up and it is very comfortable...my wife really liked it.

I have mixed feelings about this chair because it's very comfortable and is actually a really nicely constructed chair. The only problem is the scratches and scuffs really detract from how nice the chair really is. If you're looking for a nice, sturdy, comfortable chair and don't care too much about cosmetic appearance, then this is for you. I wouldn't recommend this chair if you are looking for something with a nice finish.

5Great Items, Poor shipping speed  Aug 22, 2010
The item arrived in good condition and was a present, The person who got it loved it, but they took 3 days to ship it rendering the extra money I paid to have it shipped 2-day delivery useless.

5Love it!  Aug 19, 2010
I love the color of this chair. It's comfortable and everyone that has sat in it agrees. I would recommend it!

5Relaxing in Haiti  Aug 06, 2010
I am a missionary in northwest Haiti, and although I may live without a lot of the basic comforts, I thoroughly enjoy my gift of my Strathwood gravity lounge chair! It cam fully assembled, ready to enjoy and I immediately found I could easily take a nap in it! It is durable, easy to fold up and then reopen, but also useful as an extra chair as well as a great lounge chair. It has already become one of my favorite furniture items in Haiti!
