By Paula E. Oneal We have an Intex rectangular above-ground pool. When I was looking for a fountain, I knew I would need one that was "universal". Many pool fountains and accessories are for a specific pipe thread size (ususally whatever in-ground pools have). So the reason I bought this unit is because they claim it comes with any connectors you need. NOT TRUE. We were only able to make the fountain work using extra parts WE had prior to purchase. Otherwise, we would have had to send this back.
Installation issues aside, it works very well. It reduced pool temperature by about 5 degrees, which was the reason for our purchasing it. I worried that the holes might clog with debris, but that hasn't been a problem. And you can tell when your filter needs changing/cleaning by the water level of the fountain.

We are very pleased with this purchace given the price point. It took a little time to put together & insert in the pool valve the 1st time. You also have to make note of where to place the underwater weight to keep it centered in the pool. This creates a nice look for poolside entertaining.

The hose is difficult to connect. Jun 12, 2011
By Michael I struggled for hours trying to connect the hose to the elbow piece and the fountain head. The hose was simply too tight and too deformed. If only the pipe tips were tapered a bit more! Did I miss something obvious? The instruction booklet was no help. Worse, there was no contact information whatsoever on either the instruction or the box.

By Michael Meyer We had high hopes for a nice fountain, but this isn't it. The installation instructions are difficult to understand (i.e. under Troubleshooting, it says, "read instructions carefully"). The so called "universal connections" aren't universal at all, and they don't tell you that you must plug all your pool return lines to get any fountain height.
After finally getting a good inlet connection, the maximum fountain height is about 3 inches, not 6 feet. It was a sad little fountain, and I've since returned it for a refund.
