Bought this item a few weeks ago. It has been in my in-ground pool for little more than a total of 4 days. I never immersed the head unit in water. The LED lights are out. Plus the noise. I could understand the noise thinking that the "motor" was generating electricity for the LEDs. Now..it is just annoying.
Assembly was pretty easy. Just time to trash this and find a non-LED unit.
First time I have written a review (bought dozens of products from Amazon)..you gotta know I dislike this thing. Money well wasted.

I have had a number of other swimming pool fountains in the last couple of years. This one is the best.
It installed so easily, that I thought I must be doing something wrong.
Once installed, it provided a wonderful soothing cascade of water. At night, without the benefit of batteries or outside electricity, this pool fountain adds beautiful LED light to the streams of water.
It works great. It looks beautiful. This fountain is easy to install and is inexpensive.
A+ in my book!

Waterfall LED Fountain Jun 16, 2009
By Sherry Braasch I have been looking for a LED Pool Fountain for quite some time. I was looking for a lighted fountain that does't require batteries or a pool hose for hook-up in order for it to work. This fountain connects to the pool return of my above ground swimming pool. Some assembly is required and be careful not to over-tighten the parts, in may cause a piece to crack ( yes, it happened to me). I unscrewed the eyeball from my pool return and screwed on the two lower pieces of the fountain to the return. I then screwed on the metal pole and fountain top to the pieces I just screwed into the return. Be careful, the fountain can not be submerged into the water. Also, make sure the gap that controls the intensity of the fountain (piece is the second piece coming out of the return) is pointed downward aimiing into the pool and not pointing upwards otherwise water will be shooting out of your pool. Fountain can be tilted or rotated, I have an oval pool so I had it shooting across the width of the pool.
Overall, the fountain is cute, not as bright as some of the pics I have seen of it. It does do a good job of circulating the pool water and my kids love swimming thru it. It seems a little noisey- but that is just the water running thru the motor so the lights light up. The only thing that worries me if it accidentally falls in the water, will it still operate?? Seems a little top heavy, so make sure the all the fountain parts are tightened and it is securely attached to the pool return. A cute fountain that doesn't cost a fortune.

Nice for a while Mar 14, 2010
By John Owens This is a cute unit that produces a nice waterfall that changed the water colors with the LED lights, without adversely affecting pressure in the other return jets. As others have said, it is quite noisy, but that is understable given it's function. However, I only got to enjoy about half a season with mine before the lights went out! The rest of the time, I just had a very noisy fountain. I will be trashing it and replacing it this year with another unit, so the price is awful high for the amount of time I was able to use it.

LOVE THE WAY THIS LOOKS BUT HAD TO HUNT TO GET ADAPTER TO FIT ON MY POOL. REALLY PRETTY AND CHANGE OF COLOR IS GREAT. ALSO, HELPS TO CIRCULATE.
