OUTRAGEOUSLY COMFORTABLE! Mar 01, 2008

This is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. I bought it for our deck but it has been sitting in the family room most of the time. In my opinion, the price was a steal for the comfort and relaxation this Lafuma chair provides. WAY better than any lawn chair I have sat in. After using for some time there is only one thing Lafuma could do to improve for my liking, and that is by putting some kind of padding on the bar where the feet rest. Instead of an exposed round metal bar, maybe go all the way down with the fabric and add some sort of pillow such as the pillow they used for the neck support. But then again, maybe it wouldn't be "zero gravity" if they did. I usually prop a pillow under my feet and that solves the problem of the metal bar digging into my ankles. It is possible to rest the arches of the feet on the bars, but more comfortable to stretch the legs all the way out! I still won't take a point away for that though, because the rest of the chair gains 5 stars in my book. When first using it takes a couple minutes to figure out how to work it smoothly. It's pretty straightforward and simple, so if you're struggling it's because you're not doing it right. I also like the way it looks. Could easily go with modern decor. It is very well made. I would definitely get the xl if you are taller than 5'5". I'm 5'5" and It wouldn't hurt if the chair were a little longer. It was too short for my 6 ft. dad. It could be that with the xl, the bar wouldn't have interfered with my feet but rather left them floating. Also, this is very easy to fold up and store, light to carry, and it makes great extra seating to pull out when you have a house full. Easily travels back and forth to our lake place. I love watching movies in it. It's more comfortable than a lot of recliners I've sat in, and much more enjoyable than our sofa. Great support...a tired back goes away, and you just might fall asleep! One more mention~ a friend slept the entire night in this chair and said he had a great night's sleep. One's feet are above the heart when fully reclined.

Want a great nap? Sep 07, 2009
By D. Smout I made the mistake of unpacking my new Lafuma recliner in the kitchen after a long day at work- in 3 minutes I was asleep! THIS is the comfort that I've been looking for in a recliner! I tried several other brands and they all had to be returned- they weren't comfortable at all. This recliner raises your legs very high, level with your torso. You can feel your legs relax instantly. There are no pressure points or places where you feel the metal parts of the chair. It is just a great design, period. I can see why people would buy this for the deck and decide to use it in the living room instead- it is that comfortable. I got the padded model made from what feels like a cotton material. I don't know if it will last as long as a nylon mesh, but it is VERY comfortable and certainly a softer feel than nylon would be. The padding is thicker than I expected and very nice. The pillow also is thicker than I expected and is fully adjustable up or down to hit your neck just right. I plan to keep it out of the sun- it deserves a little more TLC than a simple lawn chair. I got this recliner on sale, but it was still more than I wanted to pay. But it is such a superior product in design and quality, I plan on buying a second chair. Even if the other reviewers are correct, and I have to replace the shock cord, it is well worth it to get a chair that I can actually fall asleep in! Incredible!

Ultimate comfort May 25, 2008

These are the best - worth every penny! They are a bit large and bulky (not to mention a bit heavy), but comfort is well worth the extra space & effort.

Recliner review Apr 24, 2009
By Still Standing I bought this chair because of a back injury - compression fractures of two lumbar vertebra - that left me with several damaged disks. Sitting in most chairs is quite painful. This chair is very comfortable, although not entirely painless for me, that is, the idea that it takes all the pressure off your spine is not quite true, at least in my case. But it is much more comfortable for me than most chairs. It seems well built and the price makes it certainly worth trying. I would recommend the chair for those with a more normal level of lower back problems or even for someone with no back problems at all - it is quite comfortable!

Most Comfortable Jun 18, 2008
By Readergurl THE most comfortable, and easiet to get in and out of! Worth the money. If you want it to stay nice-looking longer, fold it up when not in use, and keep sheltered... like under the overhang of house, etc.
