banzai plunge Jun 14, 2010 This water slide lasted less than a year. After just a few mpnths of play, one of the seams began to rip and even after sewing it together with fishing line, the material continued to rip and develop holes. Not worth it considering we paid over $300 for it.
Love it Jun 12, 2010 Bought this slide in April of 2009 for my kids birthday after a ton of research on them. You do need to leave the slides air pump on to to keep it inflated which could be a little annoying but I knew this before I purchased it.
In addition we purchased a 1/6 HP utility pump to attach to the sprinkler on the slide so that it pumps water from the pool at the bottom back up to the slides sprayer and saves some water. Also we have hot water on demand in the house so we pulged into the line and made a spicket on the outside of the house so that we can fill the banzai plunge with warm water. We also connected a timer to the hose and turn it on for two hours and the pool is full and ready to be used.
Our kids and neighborhood kids absolutley love this slide. It is very durable, we have had 10 kids under the age of 7 in there at once. We love the pool part at the bottom so they can still kind of swim. We will leave ours uninflated at night on the ground if we are going to use it the next day and it is fine. Otherwise we deflated and let all the water out and then reinflated it and let it dry out for about two hours. Once dry we roll it up and place it in a large rubbermade container for storage.
It takes about 10-15 minutes for set up and 15-20 minutes total for take down. Well worth the money!
Great Slide Sep 28, 2009 I bought this slide on clearance at the end of the season two years ago.
I nearly took it back after reading reviews on here but i am so glad i decided to keep it.
Yes it takes alot of water and time to fill the pool. Yes it can be wasteful but we do not have a waterpark nearby and i calculated in one day how much i spend on this pool both water and power and it is cheaper then heading off to our nearest waterpark.
For us it was $8 a day to run the slide we do have a separate outside water meter so that might help with cost.
I actually gave it a few stars on the educational value of it because it can help you to teach your kids pool safety and how to stay safe when you get excited on something like this.
We are very strict with the one child at a time while climbing the slide and i think that has helped it to stay in good shape. We have had it three years now without issues.
It was even left outside deflated for 10 days with a couple in the rain before i could tend to it in order to get it ready to put away.
We blow it back up after 24 hrs to help to really wipe it down and get all the grass and water out of the footholds also to double check it for any wear and tear issues.
One thing I have to say though is I would never pay the full retail price on this one and yes I wish they could have thought of a way to somehow have the pool stay inflated without running the blower.
Also once again as with any Banzai product the photo from them is not true to life. You will not fit that many kids in the pool that are that old like it shows.
Well worth the money Sep 10, 2009 I bought the banzai water slide as opposed to renting one. I ordered it with next day delivery and received it on time. My grandkids loved it! I figured it was better to spend the money to buy it to be able to use it for the week my son was in town. Great investment.
Too much work Aug 31, 2009 Purchased the Banzai Water Slide with the expectation that it would be easy to setup, fun for the kids, and easy to break down when done. It was easy to setup. Trying to fill the pool and keep the slide wet was a challenge. It took 45min to 1 hour to get pool filled enough for a decent splash. That also means I have to run the blower for additional time before the kids can enjoy it. Overall, it should not take so long to fill the pool for the waterslide to be fun.
