5Lots of fun but may take practice  May 16, 2009 By J. Pustka
With the weather getting warm, my two boys, ages 7 and 12, have been begging for a water toy. We found this and thought it would be a lot of fun and cool them down in the summer heat as well.

My husband laid the plastic mat out, attached the hose and we were ready to go in a matter of minutes. The dvd that is included said that you should run with the board, drop it and then jump on top of it to skim across the plastic. My boys tried that a couple of times and had a hard time coordinating it all. They then tried just putting the board on the plastic and running and jumping on. They had much better luck with that.

This toy will take some practice for them to learn how to do, but I think that is good. It will be physically challenging and keep them entertained and cool for the summer.

2must have a perfectly level area!  May 24, 2009 By E. Cooper
I got this for my boys who were 10 and 8. Though structurally it is very sound, it was very difficult to use. We finally figured out that the area really needs to be PERFECTLY level to properly use this. We have a very slight slope so we had to try it in a neighbor's yard. Even then, the kids and their friends couldn't get it to work very well. Quite different from the picture! I'll stick to the basic slip and slide - very cheap and very easy fun.

1Don't waste your money  Aug 07, 2009 By Angela Bergholtz
You have to have a 100% flat surface to use this item. We bought it for my son's birthday party and have a somewhat flat ground. We set it up the night before the party, didn't work. We couldn't use the skimboard because it didn't fill with water due to the uneven ground. The kids used it more like a slip-n-slide. The end busted out before the party even started. It is a huge waste of money unless your yard is completely level. I was so dissapointed and so were the kids after seeing how "cool" it looks on TV.

4Soccer Mom  Jul 23, 2009 By JGP "Soccer Mom"
We got this package recently for my 9 year old son. It was an easy set up and does need to be on a pretty level surface. If you make sure the tubing around slide is nice and full it works so much better with the sides full and standing up as much as possible.
My son spent the whole day on this thing from 10 a.m. to about 5 p.m.. He absolutely loves it. It took him awhile to get it and a lot of slip sliding and falling but all in good fun and laughing the whole time. Even the neighbor boy came over who is 5 years of age and was all over this thing. His mother ended up going and buying just the skimboard and the boys had a great day of fun together. Both of them were able to ride the skimboards but not like the guys on the videos all the way from the begining to end but I think it will come in time with practice. Another awesome feature is the fact that this is a real skimboard and can be used on the beach or the slide. Very fun and worth the money.

1Not worth the money.  Jul 13, 2009 By Elizabeth
My kids couldn't use it at all. You have to have a COMPLETELY flat surface (to the point that the level can't be off the bubble.) The water just pours out and there's no way to skim.
