"Refill" kit is all you need Jun 25, 2010
By J. Keil The only difference between this refill kit and the regular kit is this doesn't include the little booklet about pool care, but you probably know why you're testing your pool already right ? So who needs it. This does include the color comparison chart which you do need.
The one parameter the "Select" strips check that others don't is hardness which you need to keep balanced if your water contacts metal parts, such as copper heater cores, to keep them from corroding. Hardness is different than but related to pH and alkalinity.

By David Lee This is much faster and more comprehensive than using my old test kit with test tubes and dropper bottles. I find myself testing more often and thus keeping better track of my pool chemistry.

Couldn't ask for better Jul 25, 2011
By S. Hamilton After being frustrated with Leslie's and Pinch-A-Penny ALWAYS getting it wrong, I purchased these strips. They are very accurate and help me to keep my pool balanced with far less chemicals than what the afore mentioned companies "suggested"...hmmm, what do you think that means. So, goodbye scammers and thieves, I found something far better than your misleadings!!!
