2Works only in pitch black lighting and small radius  May 05, 2009 By Ronald Oliver Exley "Ronnibily"
Purchased this product for a night time pool party. The product worked fine and made some cool patterns, but for the lights and pattern to show in the pool there can be no lighting at all. The pool and area around it need to be pitch black, which makes it impossible for people to see around the pool. My pool is about 40 ft long, 18 ft wide and 6 ft deep. The radius for the lights is only about 10 ft around, so I would have needed 4 or 5 to cover the whole pool. Disappointing. If you have a small poll or hot tub, think about it.

2Kids disappointed  Jul 29, 2010 By Keath W. Otis
Well....after all the build-up and expectations.....we fired this thing up at dusk and the kids (ages 10,8 and 4) shouted out..."Thats lame!!". I told them to wait until it was darker....but even in pretty much pitch black light, it wasn't anything to write home about. Not that I was suspecting a lazer light show the likes of Pink Floyd....but in this day and age of techno advances....you would expect something more. A rip-off and waste of money. Heed these reviews!!

3Eh....  Jul 10, 2011 By funinthesun
This product was not what I was expecting or what they make it out to be. I was pretty disappointed that it has to be pitch black in the pool before it would work (and this is with brand new batteries) and the light it puts off it very small....they make it look like it takes up the entire pool floor. It doesn't. It would also be nice if it had a speed button on it so that it doesn't blink super fast all the time. I wouldn't buy this particular light again...

4Got one as a gift. It broke. Bought another to see how to fix it. Worth it.  Jul 06, 2011 By Daniel R. Dreifort "Search Engine Optimization Guru"
Had a ton of fun with the first one until it broke. (LOTS of horesplay.) It wouldn't close. Didn't know how to fix it.
I was pretty sure it was an easy fix so I bought another one to help diagnose. Turns out the yellow gasket had fallen off. Once I knew what to look for, I found it in a basket of pool stuff. NowI have two, which is good! One wasn't enough for my 20x40 pool.

4Decent for the price  Apr 04, 2011 By Colene
I bought this for my Dad in FL and he likes to bust it out when he has karaoke parties. A bit quirky, I know, but it goes to show you the lights are truly entertaining.
He had a problem with the currents of the filters (any movement in water, really) blowing it all over the pool, getting it stuck in corners or by the filter. He solved this by hanging a fishing weight from the bottom of the product about 2 feet deep; not heavy enough to sink or submerge it completely, but heavy enough to keep it relatively stationary.
It's been almost a year and he still is happy with it.
Note: the deeper the pool, the less coloration you see on the floor.
